Party Planning with Paperless Post

I’ve been out of the event planning and bridal world for a few years now but now I’m hopping back in full force- my little sister got engaged a few months ago and I couldn’t be more excited to be back. First up on my Maid of Honor (refuse to acknowledge that I’m actually the Matron of Honor- who came up with that name anyway??) to do list, is the bachelorette party! I’m super excited to be planning this although I’m a little intimated being that I’m seven years older than my sister and all of her friends! (Trying to be a cool mom and not a regular mom, ya know?) The location has been picked (Austin- let me know if y’all have any recommendations!) and the details are coming together- so exciting!

Paperless Post was my first stop for picking out a fun and festive invite. There is such a great selection- from baby showers to wedding invites to holiday parties to bachelorette parties. (Sidenote- despite their name, they also have the best paper invites as well. I’ve used them for all four of my son’s birthday parties and I got SO many compliments!)

I have a few more events coming up and I can’t wait to use >Paperless Post again!

  • i always have a love/ hate/ commitment issue with color but i really love this vintage collection that one kings lane just put out. such a fan of layering and pattern play!
  • one of my dreams is to own a store, so i’m always mesmerized by articles and pinterest about the interior design of stores. loving the new pretty plum sugar space featured on glitter guide. (also, follow my “storefronts” board on pinterest!)

i’m SO excited its finally spring- farmer’s markets, gardening, flowers, cleaning, light colors, open windows- it really is the best. i’ve already gotten started on a few projects that i’m excited to share soon (master bedroom purchases, landscape projects, window boxes, exterior painting, rearranging and organizing!)

charleston’s winter was very mild and we spent a lot of time at palmetto islands county park. ‘nature island’ is tiny and jungle like and you take a beautiful boardwalk path over the intercoastal to get there. miss that place so much!

a weekend edition for the new year

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

hope y’all had a fun night and are feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning 😉 we hung out at home since i have the worst cold ever and started watching this/ hgtv/ the ball drop. but i was up for making some cocktails with my new favorite- casamigos– and popping some bub at 12. this weekend i hope to unpack and organize after two weeks of being out of town. do y’all have any good resolutions? i’m not a huge fan but last year, i jotted down twelve words that i wanted to focus on in 2015 (organize, health, create, etc) and paired them a month. overall, i think it went well and am trying it again this year. happy 2016!

lighting dupe: ikea vs anthropologie

i’ll be back friday with a special new years weekend edition but just  wanted to quickly pop in with a little dupe.

a few months ago, i found this light at ikea to hang over my kitchen sink. i love the gold hardware and the black and white cording- i actually think the details are prettier on the ikea one.

pretty good right??

windows

when i was younger, my family and i would visit nyc most christmases. there isn’t anything more magical than the city around the holidays, no matter your age. one of my most favorite parts was the windows on 5th avenue. i loved taking in every last detail of the intricate designs.

here are some- past and present. [i’m SO jealous of the amazingly talented people who get to call this their job- definitely a dream job for me!]

wrapping paper round up

i’ve finally started my christmas shopping and the packages are starting to show up on my doorstep- time to start wrapping!

when i was little, my aunt wrapped every present in craft paper and drew the prettiest bow and name tag- it was the best. maybe one day, i’ll be cool like her but for now i like to keep things pretty simple (ie craft paper, bakers twine, maybe a sprig of holly or rosemary tucked in) but these are just too pretty!
