Party Planning with Paperless Post

I’ve been out of the event planning and bridal world for a few years now but now I’m hopping back in full force- my little sister got engaged a few months ago and I couldn’t be more excited to be back. First up on my Maid of Honor (refuse to acknowledge that I’m actually the Matron of Honor- who came up with that name anyway??) to do list, is the bachelorette party! I’m super excited to be planning this although I’m a little intimated being that I’m seven years older than my sister and all of her friends! (Trying to be a cool mom and not a regular mom, ya know?) The location has been picked (Austin- let me know if y’all have any recommendations!) and the details are coming together- so exciting!

Paperless Post was my first stop for picking out a fun and festive invite. There is such a great selection- from baby showers to wedding invites to holiday parties to bachelorette parties. (Sidenote- despite their name, they also have the best paper invites as well. I’ve used them for all four of my son’s birthday parties and I got SO many compliments!)

I have a few more events coming up and I can’t wait to use >Paperless Post again!

little luxuries: sheets

Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

A while ago, I talked about how I’m becoming more aware of what I use in my home. I love trying to use organic in as many places I can without spending a ton of money. Recently, caché district contacted me to review their new premium 100% organic sheets and of course I was super excited about trying them out!

A few things that caché district offers that I love are the fact that they are local (Richmond), they are a family owned company (a husband and wife!) and that their focus is to bring organic, comfy sheets (400 thread count- yes please!) while being very affordable. These sheets are soft (and cute!) enough, that they have quickly become a household favorite.

They just launched their crowdfunding campaign on IndieGoGo. Head on over to help this great company get going. I have a feeling big, exciting things are headed their way!

happy new year +one table, two ways

happy new year! as with so many people i know, myself included, i’m so glad that 2016 is over- yay for 2017! i always treat the new year as a pre spring cleaning- there’s just something about dejunking, purging and starting with a clean slate to head into the year. one of my first projects this year is amping up some of the spots that have been ignored. our house doesn’t have much of an entry so i’ve been scheming a plan to give the illusion of a grander/ more exciting entrance.

which one would you pick?

hello! + wallpaper in small spaces

hi again! i’m not going to sit here and make excuses as to why i haven’t posted since the fourth of july (oops) but lets just say it was a long crazy (but good!) summer trying to keep a busy two year old entertained. but i’d really like to come back and be here more consistently.

anyway, i’ve been wanting to experiment with a statement wallpaper in a small space (one of the bathrooms, the entry, the linen closet, butler’s pantry or even the back of a wardrobe or secretary desk).

some inspiration:

crushing on: jersey ice cream company

webRiverhead-Dining-5

i stumbled on this amazing duo recently and am obsessed! i love how they came up with their name and i love every single thing they do. great story, great branding and amazing talent.

a little bit about them:

“Jersey Ice Cream Co was founded in the summer of 2010. Two kids in love found an old embossing stamp at a flea market, dreamed up a design empire, and then set to work trying to create it. Today Tara Mangini and Percy Bright spend their time moving house to house, job to job, leaving beautiful homes in their wake. They believe in craftsmanship, timelessness, and leaving things better than they found them. They do not make ice cream, but will happily have some if you’re offering.”

and here’s some of their work:

things in my shopping cart

i know i’m not the only one who always has a bunch of tabs of ‘shopping carts’ from favorite sites, just sitting there waiting to bite the bullet. i thought it’d be fun to talk about some of the good things i’m desperately wanting.

crosby collection swing arm sconce– i love these a lot. i can’t believe the price although i’m eager to see the quality. now to find a place for them….

lexmold molded plastic rocker– theres this really cool old house down the street from us that i’m in love with (i’m dying to go inside because i have a feeling they have it decorated amazing!) and on their front porch they have two hermès orange planters with lettuce planted in them and then off to the side, one of these rockers. i love it! the juxtaposition of the mod and a national register historic house, is just too much for me to handle!

mother’s day gifts

happy (almost) mother’s day! my ideal day would be to sleep in, breakfast in bed and then, if the weather is nice, go to some vineyards. do y’all have any fun traditions?

a few ideas for all the moms in your life! spoil them- they deserve it!
