some pretties to jumpstart the weekend!

another new series (!)- what you should be buying at _____. i’ll be spotlighting stores that i love and the amazing stuff they have.
first up- furbish studio. jamie meares, of the oh-so popular blog, i suwanee, is such an inspiration and has an amazing eye. such a great mix of home accessories, gifts, even bags and jewelry. i have yet to visit the raleigh brick and mortar but this is a site i check weekly to see what new goodies they have and trust me, they have so much good stuff.
check out some of my favorites.
this cult classic is back in stock and is so versatile- living room/ playroom storage, a bright pop of color in the bathroom or even a planter.
i’m such a sucker for an otomi textile. another versatile purchase- table runner, a cool wall hanging (how cute would it look in a little girl’s room??), even at the end of the bed.
love this simple pillow.
such a pretty southern staple.
about to scoop this up for the front porch (ps-i finally painted the headboard ceiling haint blue and let me tell ya, it looks GOOD 🙂 also, i wanted to be as historically correct as i could so i referred to the “historic colors of charleston” color chart by sherwin williams and picked piazza blue.)
i’m such a fan of local artists and this one just so happens to be from my ol’ stompin’ grounds. love this one from dorothy shain.
SO good, right?
with so many big life events constantly being announced by friends (basically) daily, i thought it might be helpful to put together a few gift ideas (kind of like how i did here). i love the idea of a basket that incorporates a wide variety of things at different price points- perfect for the Mr and the Mrs! Plus, who doesn’t like multiple presents?!
here are a few things to get started!
some exciting new purchases (finally!):
bed from one kings lane (this just arrived today. i don’t know how i feel about it in person yet but i’m giving it a week trial)
threshold vintage washed sheets in white
and these (parachute linen sheet set)
casper mattress
parachute essential quilt (this is on pre-order. i love it and haven’t seen anything similar but since i lack any sort of patience- i want it NOW! any suggestions for something similar?)
still looking for some layering details- shams (in a fun print! maybe these?) and a throw for the end of the bed.
i’m SO excited its finally spring- farmer’s markets, gardening, flowers, cleaning, light colors, open windows- it really is the best. i’ve already gotten started on a few projects that i’m excited to share soon (master bedroom purchases, landscape projects, window boxes, exterior painting, rearranging and organizing!)
here are a few links to get going!

our mini bathroom update (paint and tile) was finished right before thanksgiving and i never shared- sorry about that! although they were just small changes, it really did a lot for the space. ultimately, we’d like to gut/ rearrange it but for now, its good to go! now i’m just looking for small accessories (ie new knobs, some hooks, hand towels) to finish off the look.
nyc’s grand central station- one of my favorites
i mentioned a few weeks ago on instagram that january had been really rough and thats why i disappeared. things are getting better and i’m slowly easing my way back into the swing of things. i have some fun projects coming up, so check back soon!
here are some things i’ve been collecting over the past month:

recently, i’ve been drawn to the mid-century/ campy look (i know, so far out of my comfort zone. but touches here and there, i’m super into.) it was a happy surprise, when i stumbled upon schoolhouse (after asking vintage coffee in mt pleasant about their fixtures), that there was so much more than lighting. i love the simplistic, vintage vibe of this company.
here are a few of my favorites.
so good, right? see more here.

hope y’all had a fun night and are feeling bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning 😉 we hung out at home since i have the worst cold ever and started watching this/ hgtv/ the ball drop. but i was up for making some cocktails with my new favorite- casamigos– and popping some bub at 12. this weekend i hope to unpack and organize after two weeks of being out of town. do y’all have any good resolutions? i’m not a huge fan but last year, i jotted down twelve words that i wanted to focus on in 2015 (organize, health, create, etc) and paired them a month. overall, i think it went well and am trying it again this year. happy 2016!
